The Silver PhatShaft 66 from Industrial was designed for the Dodge Cummins 5.9L 2003-2007 diesel that has multiple fueling upgrades. What separates the Silver PhatShaft from the Super PhatShaft is their new technology, a 74mm turbine wheel. To improve on the Super PhatShaft turbos we needed improve performance at a lower rpm range and we needed to reduce compressor surge. The solution is the 74mm turbine which is the latest in turbine trim design technology. The new trim design transfers exhaust gas energy more efficiently than any other turbine on the market. It also allows for better exhaust gas expulsion which results in lower EGT’s and quicker rotor acceleration. The most important benefit of the 74 mm turbine wheel is that it gets rid of turbo surge and broadens the power range.
All silver series turbo come with a 360 degree thrust bearing and an appealing polished compressor housing. The Silver series utilizes the proven 14cm exhaust housing with a modified exhaust nozzle. Industrial Injection maximized the wastegate ports in the 14cm housing by enlarging their diameter. The turbine housing wastegate cover it custom build to allow full wastegate travel. Like all PhatShaft turbochargers they are equipped with dual grooved high performance bearings and an adjustable boost elbow. The Silver PhatShaft 66 compliments aggressive fueling upgrades and can support up to 400hp-800hp. The Silver PhatShaft 66 is a drop in replacement however, a HX40 downpipe is required for installation on 2003 and early 2004 Dodge Cummins 5.9L. All trucks from 2004.5-up require the use of a boost fooler and 2006 up will also require a map fooler, this is included in some modules but check and see if you will be needing this item.
